THE TASTE OF INSPIRATION

In 2002, I spent a month in the backcountry of Provence amidst ancient perched villages, rugged gorges and craggy hills. I went to learn a little something about French cooking but came away with a lesson in how to live.

I found that eating well in Provence isn’t reserved for special occasions; it’s something to enjoy every day. Simple touches like colorful ceramic serving pieces and a tablecloth transformed an uncomplicated meal into an experience worth lingering over with family and friends.

And then there’s the olive oil.

I’ve never tasted olive oil so soft, so delicate or so subtle. There were buttery olive oils that seemed destined for fish; floral, fruity olive oils to drip over goat cheese; spicy green olive oils to drizzle on warm grilled lamb.

I was inspired to recreate these flavors at home.

AN EXPERIENCE TO BE SHARED

After finding that what little olive oil produced in France, stays in France, I decided to go back. I learned everything I could about olive oils, vastly improved my French and created Piche.

Named in part for the French picholine olive variety and in homage to Julia Child’s Provençal La Pitchoune home, Piche is your source for delicate French olive oils, Italian olive oils with French sensibilities, and California oils in a Provençal style. You’ll also find beautiful serving pieces handmade in a tiny village in Provence and French table linens, made by artisans the old-fashioned way.

With Piche you can enjoy the simple pleasures of Provence at your own table, every day. Simply drizzle, dish and delight.
